The in-home session experience

Part of why I love in-home newborn lifestyle sessions in West Hollywood, and other areas of Los Angeles, is everything is done in the comfort of your home. Which makes it for a fun and relaxing session for everyone. I have a a stress free prep guide I send off to my clients, and then you’re set. And, bonus – you don’t have to leave your house with a newborn!

When I get to a client’s house, I take a few minutes to walk around and check out the lighting conditions, so I can plan. Kevin was in awesome-dad mode and had the house spotless in preparation. Their house had gorgeous light, and the nursery was just so cute. We took one break when Millie got hungry, but I plan for this and always build enough time in my sessions so we can take any breaks your new baby needs.

What rooms will we be photographing in?

Traditionally, I like to photograph in the nursery, living room, and your master bedroom.

But, that isn’t a set rule, just more of a guideline.

Do you bring wraps, or should we use our own?

Millie loves being wrapped. And her mom had some beautiful wraps and headbands for her. I always bring several, just in case, but Kelsey had a classic grey one (love) and pretty purple one (love) all picked out and ready to go. They were perfect!

I always bring my selection to chose from, and let moms decide when I arrive. I’ve done some sessions where we only use my wraps, and several where we use one or two. But I bring them all, regardless – so you don’t have to stress.

How do in home Newborn Lifestyle Pictures work?

I will guide you, while letting you be you.

We’ll get a mixture of images that are you looking at the camera, as well as you looking at your newborn, and sweet moments in between. I also love getting pictures of your nursery, so you have those sweet detailed moments to remember.

Everyone (including me!) feels uncomfortable in front of a camera. So I’ll be direction you, along the way.

I bring my laptop, so if you need to take a break for feeding or changing, I can keep myself occupied 🙂
