You may have the best sales pitch, or write the cleverest of emails to get someone’s attention. But your profile picture is the first thing someone glances at. And it’s not because people are shallow – it’s because we all want to make a human connection to the person on the other end of the screen.

So yes, it matters. A lot! Why do all the hard work, but not market yourself in the best way possible?

I suggest getting professional headshots updated every one to two years so you are giving representing yourself accurately.

Or, if it’s an old picture, of cell phone quality, or (God forbid) a bathroom mirror selfie, it’s time to update.
